A temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher during treatment can mean a serious infection while your blood counts are low. Call your team or go to the ER — do not wait it out.

Also urgent: trouble breathing or chest pain · swelling of the face, lips or throat · new confusion or fainting · shaking chills · not being able to keep fluids down.

This is standing guidance shown to everyone. Nothing on this page is based on anything about you, and nobody is monitoring you.

Timed to the cycle

Day 1 is the day of your infusion. These are the effects a retrievable document ties to a day range for this regimen — not a prediction about you.

Mucositis

Typically around days 3–14 · usually worst around days 7–14

Sore mouth or mouth ulcers, usually around days 5-10.

Call your team: Sores that stop you eating, drinking, or taking your medicines.

reported by about 52% of people; severe in 7% · Timing from a clinical guideline · from Docetaxel

Neutropenia

Typically around days 7–14 · usually worst around day 7

Low infection-fighting white cells — very common with single-agent docetaxel, lowest around day 7.

Call your team urgently: A temperature of 100.4°F (38.0°C) or higher — an emergency.

reported by about 99% of people; severe in 86% · Timing from the manufacturer’s prescribing information · from Docetaxel

Febrile neutropenia

Typically around days 7–14 · usually worst around day 7

A fever during the low-count window.

Call your team urgently: Any fever of 100.4°F (38.0°C) or higher — call immediately.

reported by about 12% of people · Timing from the manufacturer’s prescribing information · from Docetaxel

Not tied to a cycle day

These build with the number of doses, or are measured from when treatment started, so a cycle day would be the wrong shape for them. Each keeps the timing its own source states.

Fluid retention

cumulative; median onset ~819 mg/m² total docetaxel

Swelling from fluid buildup, which builds up over cycles; a steroid premed reduces it.

Call your team: Rapid weight gain, or swelling in the legs, belly, or around the eyes.

reported by about 60% of people; severe in 9% · from Docetaxel

Neuropathy

Builds up with the number of doses rather than arriving on a particular day of the cycle. Tell your team early — adjusting the dose is what helps most.

Tingling or numbness in the hands and feet; builds over cycles.

Call your team: New or worsening numbness, or trouble with buttons/zippers.

reported by about 58% of people; severe in 6% · Timing from the manufacturer’s prescribing information · from Docetaxel

Fatigue

Tiredness that rest doesn't fully fix, often building over cycles.

Call your team: Fatigue that keeps you in bed for more than 24 hours.

reported by about 66% of people; severe in 15% · from Docetaxel

Timing windows on this page rest on:

A window appears here only where a retrievable document ties it to a drug in this regimen. Where nothing could be found, the window was removed rather than estimated — so a missing time is an honest gap, not an oversight.
